Marloe Marshes NR, Wales

After returning from Skomer we visited a nearby reserve, Marloe Marshes owned by the National Trust and managed with the South Wales Wildlife Trust.

At first glance there didn't seem to be much about but we settled down in one of the 2 hides and were treated to out first ever Spotted Flycatcher:
Not the most exciting bird, but a real treat none the less. It was busy 'flycatching' the whole time we were there and disappearing off to the nest.

We also had great Sedge Warbler sightings:

There were a few species of waterfowl about, Canada Geese, Shelduck, Mallard and Little Grebe:
There was a lot of Reed Bunting activity in front of the hide:
They all seemed to be enjoying the free lunches:
There were also plenty of Linnet and Finches about, but none came that close to the hide.
A great end to a great day!
